Jamie Williamson, Ph.D.

Jamie Williamson, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Departments of Integrative Structural and Computation Biology at The Scripps Research Institute. He joined the faculty in the Chemistry Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he attained the rank of Associate Professor with tenure. Jamie moved to TSRI as Professor, and he became the Associate Dean for the Chemistry Program. Jamie became Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for the Kellogg School of Science and Technology at TSRI. He also became Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Executive Vice President of Research and Academic Affairs. Jamie’s research involves the study RNA structure, RNA-protein interactions, and ribosome assembly using biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology approaches. Jamie received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford, and postdoctoral work at the University of Colorado.
